Having the Word of God can lead people to faith in Christ, and those new Christians then grow by studying their Scriptures, even using them to share their faith with others. For this reason, the focus of our work is to distribute complete Bibles, New Testaments, or portions of it.
These copies of the Word of God are printed in more than 90 languages and are donated either directly to individuals or placed in selected public locations where a large number of people, who may be seeking answers, will have the opportunity to encounter the Word of God.
Why do we do it?
What do we distribute?
The Gideons distribute a portion of the Holy Scriptures, specifically an edition that includes the New Testament, Psalms and Proverbs. The edition of the New Testament that is offered, besides being absolutely accurate in terms of translation, does not include any footnotes or comments at the end of the text; in other words, it is of the “pure text” type.
The New Testament is distributed in three formats: Mini Pocket (pocket-sized 8cmx11,5cmx1cm), New Maxi (13cmx19cmx1,5cm), Quadrilingual ENG-ITA-DEU-FRA.
New Testaments can only be distributed by registered members (Gideons) and their spouses (auxiliaries). All distributions are done absolutely FREE of charge.
